Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technology teams to deliver timely, high-quality releases of data-intensive applications.
- Create and maintain detailed test plans and comprehensive data-focused test scenarios with product and business teams.
- Conduct story-level, regression, performance, and security testing for platform releases.
- Validate data quality, accuracy, integrity, consistency, schemas, pipelines, volumes, and reconciliations across datasets and production environments.
- Manage automated test execution, investigate test outcome issues, and escalate problems when necessary.
- Improve data validation automation and promote data QA best practices.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience as a Data QA Engineer or equivalent expertise from a non-traditional background.
- At least 5 years of experience using Python or shell scripting for data validation automation.
- Advanced SQL skills, including writing, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex queries on SQL-based databases such as MySQL and Oracle.
- Experience testing internal and external APIs, large datasets, data consistency, and data quality methodologies.
- Experience with data test automation tools and project management or ticketing systems such as JIRA.
- Strong collaboration, communication, attention to detail, and ability to work across diverse teams.
- Preferred: familiarity with performance testing tools, security testing practices, data visualization tools, data interfaces, Airflow pipeline testing, and Great Expectations.
