Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product teams, business teams, and technology teams to support timely, high-quality releases of data-intensive applications.
- Build and maintain detailed test plans and comprehensive data-focused test scenarios.
- Conduct story-level, regression, performance, and security testing as needed for platform releases.
- Validate data quality, accuracy, integrity, consistency, and reconciliation across large datasets and production environments.
- Manage test automation execution, investigate test outcomes, and resolve or escalate issues.
- Improve test automation for data validation and promote data QA best practices.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience as a Data QA Engineer or equivalent expertise from a non-traditional background.
- At least five years of experience using Python or shell scripting for data-validation automation.
- Advanced SQL skills, including writing, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex queries on SQL-based databases such as MySQL and Oracle.
- Experience testing internal and external APIs, large datasets, data consistency, and data quality.
- Strong knowledge of data testing methodologies and practices.
- Familiarity with data-testing automation tools and project management or ticketing systems such as JIRA.
- Strong collaboration, communication, attention to detail, and ability to work across diverse teams.
- Preferred: familiarity with performance testing tools, security testing practices, data visualization tools, data interfaces, schema and structure testing, data quality and integrity testing, pipeline functional testing with Python/Airflow, volume and reconciliation testing, and Great Expectations.
