Sr Principal AI Software Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Influence AI strategy, direction, and policy across products and solutions.
- Lead AI architecture, technical vision, and cross-team initiatives with product and data science organizations.
- Design agent workflows, RAG architectures, custom LLM approaches, and large-scale AI programs.
- Represent the company as an AI subject-matter expert with partners, vendors, and customers.
- Establish standards for AI cost management, monitoring, security, quality, testing, and documentation.
- Lead technical teams, provide mentorship, evaluate technologies, and promote reusable engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Extensive programming experience, preferably with Python, or with Java, Node.js, or Go.
- Proven experience designing and deploying production generative AI applications using large language models at scale.
- Experience with vector databases such as pgvector, Milvus, or Pinecone and production embedding-model optimization.
- Expertise with multiple LLM providers, LangChain, LlamaIndex, custom orchestration frameworks, evaluation frameworks, and custom agents.
- Extensive experience leading technical teams, creating technical strategy, and providing technical mentorship.
- Expert-level experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and advanced containerization using EKS.
- Familiarity with responsible AI practices, including data privacy, bias mitigation, and model monitoring.
- Preferred experience includes full software development lifecycle ownership, enterprise RAG, semantic search, conversation memory, multimodal AI, model fine-tuning, custom model deployment, AI observability, cost optimization, performance monitoring, roadmap planning, and cross-organizational collaboration.
