Base Salary

$187k - $254k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders and teams to identify AI opportunities, define problems, and establish measurable outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in prioritizing AI initiatives, selecting technical approaches, and planning the path from proof of concept to enterprise adoption.
  • Architect and build AI proofs of concept using LLMs, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, data pipelines, APIs, cloud-native services, and enterprise platforms.
  • Evaluate feasibility and business value, including data readiness, integration, user experience, security, compliance, performance, cost, and operational needs.
  • Define scalable architectures and create reusable components, documentation, decision records, and handoff materials.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship while guiding architecture, delivery practices, ownership, and accountability.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Machine Learning Engineer experience; or Master's degree and 6 years; or Bachelor's degree and 8 years; or Associate's degree and 10 years; or high school diploma/GED and 12 years.
  • Substantial machine learning and software engineering experience, including senior technical ownership of applications beyond the prototype or pilot stage.
  • Deep full-stack development skills, including Python, APIs, application back ends, user interfaces, data integration, and modern software design.
  • Hands-on cloud platform and infrastructure-as-code experience, including AWS and Terraform or similar tools.
  • Practical knowledge of generative AI and machine learning application design, including model selection, evaluation, inference, and implementation trade-offs.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture, integration patterns, access controls, sensitive data handling, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Experience evaluating AI applications using quantitative and qualitative evidence covering quality, user experience, safety, latency, and cost.
  • Strong software engineering practices, including automated testing, version control, modular design, code review, documentation, and AI development tools.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture decisions, mentorship, and collaboration across business, product, engineering, security, and platform teams.
  • At least 2 years leading teams, projects, or programs, or directing resource allocation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical options and trade-offs to technical and business audiences.
