Responsibilities
- Operate and harden Kubernetes clusters across on-premise and hybrid environments, including upgrades, capacity planning, networking, and multi-tenant namespace management.
- Own the CI/CD and deployment platform layer, including Jenkins, Artifactory, ArgoCD, and related tooling.
- Build self-service paved-path templates and tools that enable application teams to deploy and operate independently.
- Implement platform security and compliance guardrails, including supply-chain security, security scanning, workload identity, and admission policy enforcement.
- Instrument platform observability with baseline dashboards, structured logging, alerting, and SLOs.
- Contribute to platform networking, including ingress, egress, traffic flows, and connectivity.
- Participate in reliability engineering and incident response through root-cause analysis, drift detection, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proficiency in at least one systems or scripting language such as Python, Go, or Bash.
- Hands-on operational Kubernetes experience covering cluster upgrades, networking, capacity, and multi-tenancy.
- Strong production Linux fundamentals, especially RHEL.
- Experience owning CI/CD tooling at the platform level, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or Flux, including pipeline templates and shared workflows.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps, including Helm, Ansible, Terraform, or ArgoCD.
- Working understanding of platform observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Ability to build tools for application teams and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Preferred experience with enterprise storage at scale, database-adjacent platform work, Kubernetes networking, secrets management, workload identity, security and compliance controls, and regulated or audited environments.
- Preferred familiarity with Cilium, Calico, ingress controllers, service mesh, SPIFFE/SPIRE, Vault, External Secrets, OPA Gatekeeper, Kyverno, CIS Benchmarks, and NIST CSF.
