Responsibilities
- Oversee search relevance configurations and parameter settings in the Apache Solr-based e-commerce search engine.
- Maintain data processing rules, including filter creation, during ETL processes.
- Translate business requirements from international stakeholders into code-level search configurations.
- Collaborate with data scientists, backend engineers, product managers, product owners, data analysts, and search managers to improve relevance models, filters, mappings, and products.
- Participate in discovery meetings and architectural discussions and decisions.
- Create or maintain technical and feature documentation and transfer knowledge to operational teams in different countries.
Requirements
- Significant technical understanding and the ability to quickly learn complex subjects.
- Interest in or knowledge of search algorithms, ETL-related data structures, search relevance optimization, precision, recall, and nDCG.
- Willingness to learn Apache Solr and its operation.
- A degree in informatics, business informatics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Python and Java or Kotlin knowledge is a plus.
- DevOps and Kubernetes knowledge are a plus.
- Experience with Apache Solr or Elasticsearch, field schemas, complex queries, boosts, filters, or Lucene function queries is preferred but optional.
- Experience with e-commerce search solutions is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, reliability, motivation, teamwork, and an interest in innovation.
- Initial experience with AI coding assistants.
