Base Salary
$172k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver cryptographic services and libraries for encryption, digital signatures, and key management.
- Build systems using RSA, ECC, DSA, and other public key cryptography for secure transactions, identity, and communications.
- Develop PKI infrastructure, certificate lifecycle management, and trust frameworks.
- Integrate cryptographic capabilities into Java-based services and hardware-backed security modules.
- Lead and participate in threat modeling, security reviews, and cryptographic design validation.
- Improve the performance, scalability, and resilience of cryptographic operations in high-throughput environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Typically 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on security and cryptography.
- Production experience with cryptographic algorithms and protocols including RSA, ECC, DSA, and digital signatures.
- Strong understanding of PKI, certificate management, and trust models in large-scale distributed environments.
- Proficiency in Java, including JCA/JCE or secure J2EE-based applications integrating cryptographic services.
- Experience with key management standards and interfaces such as PKCS#11 and KMIP, plus familiarity with secure coding practices and cryptographic pitfalls.
- Ability to work from the San Jose office in a hybrid or onsite model and collaborate across security, platform, and infrastructure teams.
