Responsibilities
- Build and maintain internal data-team tooling, including CLIs, automation scripts, observability dashboards, and developer productivity tools.
- Support the infrastructure, CI/CD, and production readiness of the team’s conversational analytics product.
- Manage Snowflake infrastructure as code with Terraform, including provisioning, access controls, resource monitors, and performance tuning.
- Maintain and improve the OpenMetadata data catalog so data assets are documented, discoverable, and trusted.
- Own data quality infrastructure for testing, monitoring, and alerting on freshness, completeness, and correctness.
- Build CI/CD workflows for dbt deployment, schema validation, data quality checks, and automated testing.
- Establish reproducible local and development environments for the data team.
- Design and implement data platform architecture with the Tech Lead while meeting security and scalability requirements.
- Codify and version-control secure access patterns, credentials, and audit logging.
- Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering standards across the platform codebase.
Requirements
- A university degree or college diploma in a recognized technical, vocational, or academic program, preferably Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years focused on data platforms or data infrastructure.
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, with JavaScript or TypeScript preferred and Python valuable.
- Experience with data ingestion platforms such as Fivetran or Airbyte.
- Strong engineering fundamentals, including version control, code review, and reproducible builds.
- Experience implementing secure data practices for compliance standards.
- Experience with Snowflake administration, Docker, Kubernetes, data catalog tools, or data observability tooling is advantageous.
