Software Engineer - Backend
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design, develop, deliver, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework.
- Own end-to-end delivery across requirements, design, implementation, automated testing, performance, deployment, and documentation.
- Design reliable, scalable, and secure services in AWS and containerize and ship them with Docker.
- Design schemas, optimize queries, and tune performance across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
- Implement and improve logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational excellence.
- Apply secure development practices, including SAST, DAST, and remediation of findings.
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities into product features and developer productivity where appropriate.
- Mentor and coach engineers, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate with product, UX, and other stakeholders.
- Take ownership of small and medium-sized tasks while balancing competing objectives and communicating technical rationale.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Deep expertise in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core Web API, MVC, and Entity Framework.
- Strong RESTful API and microservices design and development experience.
- Experience with ReactJS and familiarity with JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Strong SQL skills across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
- Experience with unit, integration, and UI test automation frameworks.
- Cloud experience with AWS or Azure.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization.
- Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, and Groovy.
- Ability to lead initiatives and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Preferred experience with Splunk, Prometheus, ELK Stack, JMeter, SAST, DAST, and AI/ML application integration.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
