Responsibilities

  • Lead technical solutions for current, new, and upcoming programs, including requirements, system decomposition, design, implementation, test strategy, and issue resolution.
  • Lead software design and anomaly investigation, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and verification.
  • Develop embedded C++ software for telematics control units, including safety-critical and connected-vehicle capabilities.
  • Debug software and system behavior in vehicles, laboratories, and integration environments.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on technical clarification, validation, ticket resolution, and closure of field or integration issues.
  • Perform design analysis and engineering tradeoff decisions involving functionality, quality, maintainability, scalability, performance, and safety.
  • Contribute to architecture and design reviews, technical direction, engineering practices, and subject-matter ownership.
  • Support integration, validation, releases, builds, and field debugging.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field, plus 4–6 years of relevant experience; alternatively, another bachelor’s concentration plus 8 years of full-time relevant experience.
  • Strong C++ development experience in embedded or systems-level environments.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and validating software on automotive embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with CAN and vehicle communication fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with cloud-connected system behavior and telephony or cellular communication protocols.
  • Experience translating requirements into software architecture, interfaces, and implementation plans.
  • Experience investigating defects, debugging complex issues, and driving corrective action through closure.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts across engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with moderate autonomy and appropriately escalate risks.
  • Preferred: telematics, connectivity services, safety-critical automotive, embedded Linux, or automotive diagnostics experience.
