Responsibilities
- Build and maintain quality infrastructure, test automation, developer tooling, CI/CD quality gates, telemetry, dashboards, and alerting.
- Enable software engineers to write, execute, and maintain effective tests across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and production systems.
- Partner on specifications, feature design, implementation planning, acceptance criteria, testing strategies, and quality risk identification.
- Use production telemetry, application performance metrics, and session recordings to identify regressions, user friction, and quality improvements.
- Coach engineers on testing, observability, and quality practices, and review implementation plans, testing approaches, and AI-generated tests.
- Improve engineering systems, release health, feedback loops, automation, and AI- and agent-assisted development workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and maintaining quality platforms, automated testing systems, developer tooling, or similar engineering systems for production software.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, systems thinking, and deep knowledge of testing, observability, application performance, and production systems.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated testing frameworks, quality infrastructure, CI/CD quality gates, and engineering feedback systems.
- Experience with production telemetry, application performance monitoring, session replay, or similar tools.
- Ability to independently drive quality initiatives from concept through implementation and work with technical and non-technical contributors.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted and agentic development workflows, including reviewing and correcting agent-generated tests and code.
- Preferred experience includes internal engineering, developer tooling, observability, or quality platforms; CI/CD and release engineering; distributed systems at scale; and utility-scale renewable energy.
