Base Salary
$148k - $216k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services for device connectivity, telemetry ingestion, health monitoring, and command/control operations.
- Collaborate with firmware, mobile, and product teams to define APIs and workflows for device features.
- Deliver scalable and resilient services in an AWS-based microservices environment.
- Build and own high-throughput data pipelines using Kafka or similar streaming technologies.
- Instrument services for observability, reliability, and SLO compliance.
- Participate in on-call rotations and live incident response.
- Write clean, testable, and performant code while improving CI/CD and automation.
- Orchestrate AI coding agents for specification writing, code generation, test authoring, incident triage, pull request review, and system design.
- Share effective AI-native engineering practices and recommendations with the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience building backend services with Java, Go, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and distributed systems.
- Strong skills with cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and deployments.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, caching layers, and event or streaming systems.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and articulate technical tradeoffs.
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI workflows.
- Preferred experience with IoT or telematics systems, Kafka, Kinesis, high-frequency ingestion, time-series data, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, SRE practices, and automated testing frameworks.
