Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java, SQL, and PL/SQL solutions for an ecommerce payments gateway.
- Build secure, clean, testable Java-based distributed applications in Linux environments.
- Collaborate with software and quality assurance engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.
- Contribute to retrospectives, technical-debt resolution, and improvements to team and department practices.
- Work across the full software development lifecycle with solution design, release, support, and business teams.
- Provide periodic availability outside normal office hours for release support and deployment.
Requirements
- Ability to develop secure, clean, and testable Java-based distributed applications.
- Firm understanding of relational database concepts, including Oracle.
- Knowledge of software architecture and industry design patterns.
- Experience with large codebases and version control systems.
- Experience using Linux as a development and production environment.
- Preferred: interest or experience with BDD, software engineering practices and tools, AI tools, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, cryptography, secure inter-application communication, and high-availability or high-capacity mission-critical systems.
- Ability to collaborate, communicate clearly, prioritize under pressure, and drive continuous improvement.
