Base Salary
$113k - $257k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain production software across the full stack.
- Build scalable, distributed, event-driven, near-real-time systems using TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, and Next.js.
- Design REST APIs, backend services, event-driven data pipelines, and distributed messaging with Kafka.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, data models, and data-access patterns.
- Develop Docker-containerized applications and deploy cloud capabilities across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Contribute to software architecture, technical decisions, engineering standards, and code reviews.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across application, infrastructure, networking, and data layers.
- Own technical capabilities from design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and customers and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional software engineering and production software delivery experience.
- 5+ years of experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, and RESTful API design and implementation.
- 5+ years of experience with event-driven, near-real-time streaming and distributed architectures.
- 4+ years of experience with Docker and PostgreSQL.
- 3+ years of experience with Next.js, Kafka, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- 3+ years of experience designing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or Jenkins and providing technical direction or technical leadership.
- Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, testing, debugging, and production operations.
- Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and work with minimal direction.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preferred qualifications include 2+ years with 2D or 3D rendering technologies; 2+ years with C# or Python; Distributed Interactive Simulation experience; aviation, flight training, aerospace, defense, military, or mission-critical software experience; and experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, or Prepar3D.
