Responsibilities
- Build and own the agent orchestration engine for long-running agent sessions and multi-step workflows.
- Implement distributed session management using DynamoDB leases, heartbeats, conditional writes, and checkpoint-based crash recovery.
- Develop event-driven pipelines using SQS FIFO queues, Kafka consumers, gRPC, and Socket.IO.
- Use Python asyncio TaskGroups and structured concurrency for concurrent session tasks, cancellation, and fail-fast execution.
- Build observability infrastructure with OpenTelemetry, distributed trace propagation, and custom span lifecycle management.
- Develop caching and state layers using Redis and DynamoDB with scoped storage, batch-read optimization, and hot-reload configuration.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building production backend or infrastructure systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python or Go, ideally both.
- Deep experience in at least three areas: distributed systems, concurrent or asynchronous programming, event-driven architectures, database infrastructure, observability, or gRPC/protobuf.
- Experience designing and operating systems handling real traffic at scale.
- Ability to work through ambiguous and novel technical problems.
