Responsibilities
- Design and harden reliable, observable, cost-bounded multi-step agent loops for enterprise-scale products.
- Select, upgrade, fine-tune, distill, and operate models in production based on quality, cost, and latency objectives.
- Develop retrieval, ranking, context-window, citation, and evaluation approaches that improve answer quality and verifiability.
- Establish evaluation, dashboard, and guardrail practices for responsible model and prompt releases.
- Own agentic product slices end-to-end from problem framing through rollout and measurement.
- Set technical direction, establish engineering standards, mentor teammates, and raise agent engineering fluency.
- Work directly with customers and translate feedback into product requirements, scopes, and milestones.
- Participate in the team’s on-call support rotation.
Requirements
- Senior software engineer and technical leader with deep agent engineering experience spanning software engineering, machine learning, and statistics.
- Experience building, training, evaluating, and operating models in production using datasets, metrics, baselines, evaluations, and error analysis.
- Experience designing reliable, observable, multi-step agentic systems with cost and latency constraints.
- Strong ability to ship production services and operate autonomously on ambiguous, high-technical-risk problems.
- Comfort with Go, TypeScript, GraphQL, Postgres, and Docker, or clear ability and willingness to learn them.
- Fluency with agentic coding tools and ownership of the code they produce.
- Experience collaborating with customers, framing product problems, and influencing technical direction.
- Preferred experience shipping LLM-powered or agentic developer products, building LLM or ML evaluation systems, fine-tuning or distilling models, working with retrieval, ranking, embeddings, or search relevance, and mentoring engineers.
