Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and scale AI-first engineering systems, shared platforms, and secure, compliant workflows across Microsoft Security.
- Modernize fragmented tooling into a cohesive engineering foundation.
- Establish reusable standards for build, validation, observability, experimentation, and cost-aware design.
- Improve developer productivity, engineering velocity, system health, and adoption of shared platforms through measurable outcomes.
- Influence teams across the organization through durable systems that improve daily engineering practices.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or a related field; or a master's degree in one of these fields plus 3+ years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience may include software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, threat analysis or modeling, cybersecurity, vulnerability research, and anomaly detection.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: doctorate plus 3+ years, master's degree plus 6+ years, or bachelor's degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience building reusable security research capabilities, platforms, or services across multiple teams.
- Preferred: experience using automation, AI-assisted workflows, and security telemetry to accelerate threat research and investigations.
- Preferred: experience using data analysis and experimentation to identify security gaps and improve security posture and researcher productivity.
Benefits
- U.S. base pay is listed at $119,800-$234,700 per year, with a separate $160,200-$261,000 range for certain San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
- Employment requires passing Microsoft and Microsoft Cloud background checks upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
