Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain automated firmware security analysis pipelines for vulnerability discovery.
  • Develop low-level C++, Python, and LLVM tooling, including compiler passes and transformations that convert firmware into analyzable LLVM IR.
  • Create and improve fuzzing harnesses, investigate crashes, perform root-cause analysis, and reduce false positives in vulnerability detection.
  • Build AI-assisted systems that classify firmware functionality and generate security analysis artifacts.
  • Debug firmware rehosting environments and collaborate with compiler engineers, software engineers, and security researchers to validate findings.
  • Develop scalable automation, testing, dependency management, CI/CD workflows, developer onboarding materials, and open-source-ready platform capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 7 years of professional systems software development experience using C and/or C++.
  • At least 5 years of experience with LLVM, compiler infrastructure, compiler development, or program analysis.
  • 3–5+ years of experience with fuzzing, vulnerability research, or application security.
  • Experience developing compiler passes, static analysis tools, or code transformation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of LLVM IR and compiler optimization concepts.
  • Experience debugging low-level software, memory corruption issues, and complex system behavior.
  • Proficiency with Python for automation, tooling, or pipeline development.
  • Experience in Linux development environments and with Git.
  • Preferred experience includes firmware security, embedded or bare-metal software, firmware architectures, HALs, MMIO, firmware rehosting, libFuzzer, AFL, AFL++, sanitizers, CodeQL, cross-compilation, AI-assisted tooling, open-source projects, and production testing frameworks.
