Base Salary
$320k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Improve developer velocity by reducing friction in build, deployment, and testing pipelines.
- Identify and resolve latency issues, improve observability, and establish reliability standards for platform systems.
- Design and build shared UI components, libraries, and reusable abstractions for web and mobile product teams.
- Evolve backend-for-frontend APIs and client-server architecture patterns for client applications.
- Partner with product engineering teams to understand needs, unblock development, and guide platform investments.
- Maintain documentation and tooling that help engineers use and contribute to the platform.
Requirements
- Strong practical skills in modern web technologies, including React and TypeScript or comparable frameworks.
- Experience designing or consuming APIs that serve frontend applications.
- A track record of building systems that improve developer productivity and developer experience.
- Strong instincts and practical experience around reliability, observability, performance, and production systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: 5+ years of software engineering experience, including significant work on shared platforms, developer tools, or infrastructure.
- Preferred: experience with shared component libraries, design systems, reusable UI infrastructure, API design, client-server architecture, production web performance optimization, CI/CD, build systems, deployment automation, observability, and monitoring.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range is $320,000–$405,000 USD.
- Hybrid policy currently requires staff to work from an office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.
