Responsibilities
- Design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems that process large volumes of data.
- Build event-driven and API-based integrations and contribute to migration toward a scalable, domain-based architecture.
- Develop and optimize software for performance-sensitive, real-time, high-throughput, and low-latency workflows.
- Investigate complex technical problems and propose solutions collaboratively.
- Work independently with responsibility for timely, high-quality production delivery.
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, product, Outcomes, Methodology, and Recruitment teams.
- Influence and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Participate in a collaborative development model where work is shared across the team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong technical depth.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience building or maintaining complex, real-time, high-volume systems with high throughput and low latency.
- Experience with heavy data processing tools and technologies such as Spark, Apache ecosystem tools, Delta Lake, Parquet, Kafka, and Avro.
- Experience with Python and/or PySpark.
- Experience with Docker, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with REST APIs and event-driven integrations.
- Ability to work in performance-oriented, production-critical environments.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, proactive collaboration, and cross-functional working skills.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud providers is preferred.
- Experience with Pandas, Spring framework, microservices, and large-scale data or analytics environments is preferred.
- Computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred.
