Base Salary
$170k - $278k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle from requirements and design through implementation, deployment, support, and maintenance.
- Design and build horizontally scalable, resilient, high-performance distributed systems for observability and infrastructure.
- Lead feature design and stakeholder reviews, document design and operational decisions, and drive consensus.
- Provide unit, integration, performance, and production-readiness coverage for owned features.
- Investigate issues, identify root causes, and evaluate performance and reliability tradeoffs at scale.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and support software in production.
- Lead and mentor team members and contribute to broader design reviews and reliability practices.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to develop horizontally scalable, resilient, high-performance distributed systems in production.
- Experience designing, implementing, deploying, and supporting large-scale geographically distributed observability systems or high-throughput data streaming and processing pipelines.
- Expertise in one or more high-level programming languages, preferably Go.
- Expert-level Kubernetes skills and query development skills, preferably SQL.
- Hands-on experience with one or more cloud providers, preferably AWS or GCP.
- Thorough understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking.
- Familiarity with monitoring, instrumentation, and infrastructure configuration best practices.
- Strong collaboration, communication, self-direction, user focus, and pragmatic technical judgment.
