Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, and ship backend applications, microservices, APIs, webhooks, and front-end interfaces.
  • Build highly available services, scalable databases, secure APIs, and reliable customer integrations.
  • Collaborate with engineers across teams to solve technical scaling challenges.
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and triage and resolve production issues.
  • Integrate PagerDuty with third-party APIs, webhooks, OAuth-based authentication, and SaaS platforms.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience designing, building, and operating large systems with scalability, availability, and performance requirements.
  • Experience building and operating customer-facing, web-based products.
  • Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Java, Ruby, or Elixir.
  • Experience with AI coding tools and eagerness to learn unfamiliar technologies, languages, and platforms.
  • Preferred experience with AWS, third-party APIs, webhooks, OAuth, Jira, Salesforce, ServiceNow, MySQL, Aurora, Kafka, NoSQL, public APIs, distributed systems, and highly available systems.
