Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve internal and open-source Java frameworks and components used across Adyen.
- Contribute to three large-scale migrations reshaping Adyen’s application architecture.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance to engineering teams using shared frameworks and libraries.
- Design and improve workflows used by engineering teams in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Kubernetes infrastructure, deployment, and security platform teams.
- Define framework usage guidance, create code validation rules, and run workshops and presentations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of Java backend development experience.
- Strong core Java and code/API design skills.
- A track record of building high-quality software with testing at all levels.
- Ability to communicate, take ownership, make decisions under ambiguity, and influence technically.
- Ability to build stakeholder alignment and drive initiatives.
- Preferred experience includes Kubernetes or cloud migrations, legacy modernization, security-related work, platform development, shared libraries or frameworks, Gradle or Maven, distributed systems architecture, Spring, Jersey, Feign, OpenAPI, AI agent workflows, DevOps, and developer advocacy.
