Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate battery management platform software, including drivers, middleware, diagnostics, and reactions, from initial bring-up through customer shipment.
- Design, develop, and test safety-critical diagnostics and reactions in collaboration with functional safety and systems teams.
- Collaborate with hardware teams on system design, schematics, and hardware validation.
- Work with battery applications, controls, test and integration, and battery systems teams to meet application requirements.
Requirements
- 4+ years of embedded software or firmware development experience, preferably with vertically integrated consumer products.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Expert C programming skills and expertise in embedded software development and optimization.
- Experience with battery monitoring firmware or power electronics.
- Deep familiarity with real-time operating systems; safeRTOS experience is a plus.
- Experience developing software to function safety requirements, including ISO-26262.
- Proficiency developing software for microcontrollers and performing hardware bring-up.
- Familiarity with multicore, automotive-grade microcontrollers and systems with live sensor inputs.
- Hands-on experience debugging embedded systems with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, and similar diagnostics tools.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, UDS, and DOIP is a plus.
- Familiarity with battery sensing or monitoring ICs such as adbms683x and TI-BQ is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork, and ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
- Motivation to take ideas from research and development through production.
