Base Salary
$240k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the multi-year technical roadmap for the perception team and align it with Autonomous Factory Systems strategy
- Lead architecture for object detection and tracking, semantic and instance segmentation, 6-DoF pose estimation, and scene understanding
- Define integration contracts between perception and motion planning, manipulation, control, and simulation systems
- Drive sensor fusion strategy across LiDAR, structured light, RGB, and depth cameras and collaborate on sensor selection and calibration
- Establish data collection, labeling, model training, evaluation, deployment, and simulation/real-world validation practices
- Lead technical hiring, conduct interviews, and mentor engineers across levels
- Represent perception in cross-functional reviews and engage with hardware vendors and research collaborators
- Evaluate state-of-the-art research and determine how to incorporate relevant advances into production systems
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience in computer vision, robotics perception, or autonomous systems, with Staff- or Principal-level technical leadership scope
- Expert-level production experience with 3D computer vision, including point cloud processing, depth estimation, stereo or structured light systems, multi-view geometry, or LiDAR algorithms
- Strong machine learning foundations spanning model architecture, training infrastructure, and production deployment
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or other applied robotics environments with production reliability and safety constraints
- Experience building and deploying real-time perception systems under strict latency and reliability requirements
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, with production-quality coding and technical review experience
- Ability to define domain architecture, make high-stakes technical decisions, and align teams across organizational boundaries
- Meaningful experience with technical hiring, including defining requirements and evaluating candidates
- Hands-on sensor fusion experience with multimodal calibration, temporal alignment, and uncertainty quantification
- Familiarity with edge-deployment model optimization such as quantization, distillation, and TensorRT
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field with concentration in computer vision, machine learning, or perception is a differentiator
- Publications, patents, or significant open-source contributions in computer vision, robotics perception, or machine learning are a differentiator
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility requirements
