Base Salary
$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement complex optimization decision problems and operate low-latency microservices at millions of queries per second.
- Integrate prediction systems and unify pipelines into a combined real-time serving architecture.
- Own the full software lifecycle from design documentation through production rollout, live debugging, and incident management.
- Design and operate high-throughput, low-latency production services.
- Collaborate with Product, Applied Science, UX Design, and Operations to turn ambiguous marketplace problems into robust system designs.
- Lead cross-team, multi-quarter projects, mentor engineers, drive design reviews, and raise operational standards.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience in backend development, distributed systems, or real-time data processing.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented or functional programming languages, such as Go, Java, or Python.
- Experience designing and operating high-throughput, low-latency production services.
- A track record of leading complex, multi-quarter projects across team boundaries.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience with marketplace, pricing, dispatch, forecasting, or other real-time decision systems.
- Preferred: experience partnering with data scientists or applied scientists to productionize models and experimental systems.
- Preferred: familiarity with real-time data streaming such as Kafka or Flink, or large-scale time-series forecasting.
- Preferred: demonstrated technical leadership, including mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and improving operational standards.

- Base salary range of USD $202,000-$224,000 per year for roles based in New York City or San Francisco.
