Base Salary
$175k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain AI agents from prototype through production.
- Explore agent architectures, prompting strategies, tool integrations, and evaluation frameworks with science and engineering teams.
- Develop reusable agent skills, tool-use pipelines, and benchmarks that improve the platform.
- Spend approximately 30% of working time with R&D partners to understand workflows, test systems, and bring insights back to the team.
- Translate field insights and internal research into product direction and prioritization.
Requirements
- Typically 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production systems used by real users.
- Experience building LLM-powered tools or applications involving prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, or evaluation frameworks.
- A strong technical foundation in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript and the ability to learn new tools and frameworks quickly.
- Ability to work across engineering, science, and product teams.
- Ability to build from scratch, navigate ambiguity, and take on multiple responsibilities.
- Experience in life sciences, biomedical research, scientific computing, or technical R&D workflows is preferred.
- Experience building agent systems, tool-use pipelines, or AI application evaluation and benchmarking frameworks is preferred.
- Contributions to open-source scientific or AI tooling are preferred.
