Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and evolve the internal AI Engineering Platform supporting AI-assisted and agentic engineering practices.
- Develop shared platform services for AI tooling, RAG knowledgebases, observability, package management, code quality, and engineering governance.
- Design and maintain Microsoft Azure infrastructure using OpenTofu or Terraform and build CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Create self-service automation and reusable capabilities that improve developer experience and engineering workflows.
- Implement monitoring, telemetry, logging, tracing, metrics, and operational improvements for shared platform services.
- Own technical work packages from design through production readiness, including reliability improvements, root-cause analysis, documentation, and remediation.
- Collaborate with engineering managers, architects, platform engineers, and software teams to drive adoption and continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineers, communicate technical trade-offs, and contribute to engineering standards and platform direction.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Experience building or operating shared engineering platforms or internal developer platforms and independently leading platform capability improvements across multiple teams.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Docker, OpenTofu or Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Strong scripting skills with PowerShell, Python, or Bash and experience designing reusable automation solutions.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Azure Monitor, Grafana, or Prometheus, including telemetry, logging, and distributed tracing.
- Experience supporting production platform services and understanding system design, service interfaces, security, resilience, scalability, and maintainability.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering teams, manage stakeholders, mentor engineers, and influence outcomes without formal line-management authority.
- Preferred experience with GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted development tools, internal developer platforms, developer experience capabilities, SonarQube, package management platforms, engineering governance tooling, vector databases, RAG, and LLMs.
