Responsibilities
- Own and lead the Google Kubernetes Engine Networking roadmap and evolve virtualization solutions for megaclusters.
- Design and develop high-performance networking for large-scale model training, low-latency GPU communication, and autonomous agentic workloads.
- Lead the design of data-plane and control-plane components for network connectivity, security, and service mesh capabilities.
- Partner with GKE Platform and Cloud Networking teams to unify Google’s networking fabric.
- Represent GKE in the Kubernetes open-source community and influence standards through global forums, meetups, and technical summits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- At least 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products and 1 year of software design and architecture experience.
- Experience building or maintaining complex, high-concurrency systems and understanding state, consistency, and scale challenges.
- Expertise in network virtualization, distributed systems, and modern protocols.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes or containerized environments, including controllers, schedulers, and APIs at scale.
- Experience engaging with technical communities through upstream special interest groups, meetups, Slack, or similar forums.
- Ability to grow technically and work effectively in unfamiliar areas.
