Responsibilities
- Provision and maintain Kubernetes environments across development, staging, and production.
- Perform day-to-day operations, upgrades, patching, and maintenance for platform services.
- Set up environments and namespaces and configure networking, ingress, secrets, and storage.
- Operate shared databases, message queues, caching systems, object storage, and CI/CD infrastructure.
- Monitor platform health, capacity, alerts, and logs, and verify backups.
- Investigate and resolve platform incidents, participate in on-call rotations, and conduct root cause analysis.
- Automate operational tasks and improve monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and infrastructure-as-code repositories.
- Collaborate with application teams, developers, and platform engineers to provide reliable internal platform services.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of experience focused on reliable operation of production platforms.
- Experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production and troubleshooting Kubernetes deployments, services, networking, resource management, scaling, and persistent storage.
- Strong Linux and container fundamentals.
- Experience operating databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and caching systems such as Redis.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or Helm.
- Experience with monitoring and logging systems and strong troubleshooting and incident response skills.
- Preferred experience with CI/CD platforms, GitOps workflows, AWS, GCP, Azure, Prometheus, Grafana, observability platforms, and multi-team Kubernetes environments.
