Responsibilities
- Build backend solutions for Wise’s recipient management experience.
- Design, deploy, and maintain clean RESTful APIs.
- Work with large-scale distributed systems and relational and non-relational databases.
- Design database schemas and optimize queries.
- Write testable code, participate in code reviews, and follow best coding practices.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, analysts, and other engineers to solve customer problems.
- Prioritize work based on customer needs and data-driven insights.
Requirements
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong experience with Java or a similar object-oriented language.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, and schema design.
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- A strong product mindset and focus on customer experience.
- A collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Commitment to testable code, code reviews, open feedback, and Test Driven Development.
- Preferred: experience with Spring Boot.
- Preferred: experience with Backend-for-Frontends (BFFs).
