Responsibilities
- Lead development of software and web applications aligned with business and user needs.
- Drive technical architecture, decision-making, scalability, security, and performance improvements for embedded video platforms.
- Develop and integrate RDK-V components, playback pipelines, middleware architectures, and distributed services.
- Perform performance profiling, system-level debugging, and application quality monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead development sessions.
- Lead multi-vendor and multi-geography engineering groups.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical training.
- Create technical documentation and influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with consideration for coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience.
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience; the technical profile specifies 15–20 years in embedded systems or video platform engineering.
- Strong architectural experience and hands-on expertise with C/C++, Linux, multithreading, IPC, and memory management.
- Deep expertise with GStreamer and media frameworks.
- Experience with DASH/HLS, DRM, ABR algorithms, middleware architectures, and distributed service design.
- Experience with RDK-V components including the Thunder framework, playback pipeline, device HALs, and plugins.
- Ability to drive technical decisions at organization-wide scale and influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience leading multi-vendor and multi-geography engineering groups.
- Preferred experience includes RDK Open Source community contributions, cloud-native technologies, microservices, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, device deployment ecosystems, AV1, CMAF, LL-HLS, and LL-DASH.
