Base Salary
$129k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain integrations between physical security hardware and firmware, network, server, and cloud-monitoring systems.
- Define system architectures, technical requirements, interfaces, data flows, and integration patterns for security products.
- Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware, including boot loaders, communications stacks, and device-management agents.
- Coordinate firmware version control, qualification testing, staged rollouts, and rollback procedures across the global fleet.
- Design network connectivity using TCP/IP, MQTT, HTTPS, RS-485, VLANs, and firewall rules while meeting AWS data center security standards.
- Design and execute system-level qualification and regression tests and develop automated testing frameworks and tooling.
- Troubleshoot firmware and system issues using log analysis, remote diagnostics, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, security operations, infrastructure, networking, software teams, and vendors.
- Create architecture diagrams, integration guides, firmware release notes, operational runbooks, and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
- Experience with Linux or Unix.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals, including networking, storage, and operating systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or equivalent analytical, detail-oriented, and communication experience with network management and troubleshooting.
- Preferred: experience with distributed systems at scale.
- Preferred: experience designing and implementing physical security systems such as access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV surveillance.
- Preferred: 5+ years of systems development experience.
