Responsibilities
- Lead customer discovery, understand codebases and workflows, identify valuable use cases, and define measurable success criteria.
- Design and ship production agents, AI applications, and coding-agent workflows on Grok and other models.
- Integrate systems with customer authentication, data, tools, workflows, and delivery systems.
- Harden initial deployments through rollout, monitoring, tracing, evaluations, debugging, and iteration based on real usage.
- Build supporting systems including tools, MCP servers, retrieval, rules, skills, CI gates, and evaluation systems.
- Measure business outcomes such as revenue, cost, hours saved, error rate, cycle time, and escaped defects.
- Work with Staff+, platform, and domain leaders and communicate technical tradeoffs and results.
- Enable customer teams to operate delivered systems and convert field learnings into reusable product improvements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or data science.
- Ability to write and review production code in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; other languages are welcome.
- Experience owning customer or operator outcomes and turning ambiguous problems into scoped, shipped systems.
- Experience building and operating AI-native workflows or agents in production and debugging model, tool, data, pipeline, or delivery failures.
- Experience with production reliability, including metrics, alerts, safe rollouts, and incident response.
- Ability to build end to end across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and prompt iteration.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments and communicate with both engineers and vice presidents.
- Preferred: 2 or more years in a customer-facing role accountable for external stakeholder outcomes.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with agents and tool-calling, evaluation harnesses, retrieval and context systems, CI/CD or developer platforms, or AI-native coding workflows.
- Preferred: experience as a forward-deployed, solutions, or platform engineer embedded with customers, or as a founding engineer owning an AI product end to end.
