Base Salary
$191k - $249k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead complex software, firmware, and system-level failure triage and prioritize escalations.
- Conduct end-to-end root cause investigations using logs, telemetry, video, and system behavior.
- Define standardized triage processes, RCA methodologies, disposition criteria, and documentation practices.
- Develop scalable diagnostic scripts, automation, and data-analysis frameworks.
- Improve system observability, telemetry, logging, and diagnosability and automate recurring investigations.
- Provide technical direction, cross-functional influence, and mentorship across engineering teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in systems integration, software-hardware interfaces, R&D, or similar work involving complex mechatronic or autonomous systems.
- Proven experience leading ambiguous technical investigations and defining scalable engineering processes or tooling.
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic.
- Experience using cloud storage and databases such as AWS S3, SQL, or NoSQL to analyze large-scale telemetry and video datasets.
- Mastery of log parsing and proficiency with Python or similar scripting languages for data analysis and automation.
- Strong understanding of robotics software stacks and communication protocols such as EtherCAT and CAN.
- Experience correlating video or hardware symptoms with system telemetry and developing diagnostic, observability, or automation tooling.
- Experience influencing cross-functional engineering teams and mentoring technical contributors.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred experience with hardware/software integration and design on HiL and with cameras, encoders, IMUs, or other sensors.
