Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the critical infrastructure underlying the firm’s technology and production trading systems.
- Debug kernel performance, develop management tools, and resolve production issues in real time.
- Build deployment automation and scalable configuration management systems.
- Monitor systems, investigate incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and implement robust long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Trading, Technology, and Operations on firm-wide systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of operating system fundamentals, especially Linux, and fluency with the Unix command line and shell scripting.
- Practical experience with modern Linux systems and systems programming concepts including C, sockets, virtual memory, and process life cycles.
- Basic understanding of network protocols and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of profiling and debugging tools such as gdb, perf, DTrace, eBPF, or SystemTap.
- Programming experience in any language; functional-language experience is a plus.
- Clear, concise communication and the ability to analyze and deconstruct technical problems efficiently.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Willingness to learn OCaml.
