Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow models for BCM and automotive body electronics software.
- Translate system and software requirements into control logic, state machines, truth tables, reusable subsystems, and model interfaces.
- Implement automotive body-control functions including lighting, wipers, washers, central locking, power windows, mirrors, horns, and body access.
- Perform model simulation, debugging, unit-level verification, functional validation, regression checks, and defect analysis.
- Support automatic code generation, generated-code integration, build activities, and basic issue debugging with embedded software teams.
- Maintain model documentation, design notes, interface details, calibration parameters, signal mappings, and test evidence.
- Review models for quality, naming conventions, signal consistency, data types, reusable structure, and modeling-guideline compliance.
- Collaborate with requirements, architecture, software, integration, validation, customer, OEM, and supplier teams.
- Ensure alignment with automotive engineering processes, configuration management, coding guidelines, and customer delivery expectations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience is required; the professional profile specifies 4 to 6 years in automotive embedded software, MATLAB/Simulink model-based development, or control software development.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, with 15 years of full-time education.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, model development, model debugging, simulation, and model-based software design.
- Experience developing control logic, state machines, truth tables, reusable subsystems, signal routing, data dictionaries, and model interfaces.
- Understanding of automotive ECU software lifecycles and vehicle domains such as BCM, body electronics, chassis, powertrain, or ADAS.
- Working knowledge of Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, unit testing, simulation-based verification, and requirements-based test cases.
- Familiarity with automatic code generation, Embedded Coder, TargetLink, MISRA C expectations, and generated-code integration is desirable.
- Working knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, UDS diagnostics, ECU communications, vehicle signals, and signal databases.
- Exposure to requirements management, traceability, configuration management, defect lifecycles, and tools including JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, Polarion, Git, or SVN.
- Basic exposure to ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR concepts, software quality checks, and model review guidelines is advantageous.
- Ability to work in Agile or V-model delivery environments and collaborate with distributed offshore, onsite, OEM, and supplier teams.
