Principal Software Engineer - Full Stack - Java, AVP
State StreetResponsibilities
- Lead complex full-stack design, development, architecture, and implementation decisions for performant, scalable platform software.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to develop sustainable architectures and solutions for complex problems.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for escalated issues.
- Review code and ensure adherence to architectural and coding standards.
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership and drive continuous improvement in development practices.
- Ensure high-quality software delivery through test automation and assist with manual testing as needed.
- Participate in the agile software development process, including standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with global teams on platform initiatives.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional software development experience.
- Recommended bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with React and Java.
- Experience designing distributed systems.
- Experience leveraging AI tools in routine development and work activities.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- C# experience and financial-services experience are bonuses.
