Responsibilities
- Define and review software requirements, PRDs, architectures, and design documentation for Renesas MCU embedded software.
- Translate market, product, marketing, and customer requirements into software requirements and implementable technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and technically lead BSPs, device drivers, RTOS integrations, networking and connectivity middleware, OTA/FOTA functionality, and sample applications.
- Manage traceability among requirements, software architecture, implementation, testing, and release deliverables using tools such as Jira.
- Lead technical discussions with domestic and international development teams, partners, and customers, resolving technical issues and aligning requirements.
- Conduct design reviews and make technical decisions focused on implementation quality, extensibility, reusability, and maintainability.
- Promote development efficiency and quality through test automation, process standardization, and continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Improve the software and development experience for developers and customers and promote appropriate development methods, technologies, designs, and architectures across teams.
Requirements
- Professional experience developing embedded software in C.
- Experience developing one or more of the following for MCUs or SoCs: BSPs, device drivers, RTOS integrations, middleware, or communication stacks.
- Practical experience with software requirements definition, specification design, architecture design, and design reviews.
- Experience analyzing defects, identifying root causes, planning corrective actions, and improving quality.
- Ability to organize technical issues and build consensus with domestic and international stakeholders.
- Practical experience creating technical documentation, managing progress and issues, and supporting releases.
- Ability to independently learn new technical areas and apply them to product development.
- Preferred experience with FreeRTOS, AzureRTOS (ThreadX), or ZephyrRTOS development, porting, or integration.
- Preferred experience with Ethernet, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, MQTT, TLS, bootloaders, boot-time optimization, memory layouts, multi-OS or OS coexistence, automotive, Edge AI, or industrial embedded software.
- Preferred experience with Python, shell scripting, test automation, development process standardization, AI-assisted code development, review, or testing.
- Experience leading a small technical team or managing projects is preferred.
