Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operation of the IBM MQ messaging platform across multiple environments.
- Assist with IBM MQ installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
- Participate in change, release, patching, documentation, and platform-improvement activities under senior-engineer guidance.
- Support application onboarding, connectivity, troubleshooting, security, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Participate in on-call or support rotations as required.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with IBM MQ or strong understanding of enterprise messaging concepts.
- Experience supporting production systems in Linux or Unix-based environments.
- Basic understanding of point-to-point and publish/subscribe messaging patterns, high availability, resilience, and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Bash, Python, or similar scripting for operational tasks.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools and the ability to troubleshoot, follow processes, and escalate issues effectively.
- Exposure to Kafka, ActiveMQ, or AMQ; basic knowledge of containers or Kubernetes; and experience in regulated or financial-services environments are preferred.
- Understanding of ITIL or structured incident and change-management processes is preferred.
