Base Salary
$91k - $187k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced network fabric, automation services, and systems for large-scale enterprise, data center, and cloud networking environments.
- Validate production networks, assess design risks, develop scaling strategies, and recommend mitigations before deployment.
- Automate network operations, device management, testing, configuration changes, and repetitive support functions.
- Build dashboards, telemetry systems, alerting mechanisms, scripts, and operational tools to monitor network health and improve efficiency.
- Develop test cases and strategies, conduct pre-production validation and network change reviews, and support governance and compliance documentation.
- Participate in incident response rotations, root cause investigations, break-fix validation, and resolution of escalated network issues.
- Analyze latency, throughput, packet loss, service metrics, and capacity data to improve network performance and support growth.
- Collaborate with project managers, customers, vendors, monitoring teams, and internal stakeholders on deployments, technical issues, and architecture.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide subject matter expertise, and contribute to technical roadmaps and software architecture discussions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in network and software development.
- Proficiency with Python or a similar programming language and experience with Linux.
- Proficiency with networking technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IS-IS, RSVP-TE, EVPN, and VxLAN.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, cloud computing, cloud networking, distributed systems, and network automation.
- Experience developing service-oriented systems, REST services, network automation, device management, or network support solutions.
- Experience with network modeling and programming using YANG, OpenConfig, or NETCONF.
- Experience in an enterprise, ISP, or cloud provider environment is preferred.
- Experience with Jira and Git is preferred.
- Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies, high-performance computing, and GPU systems is preferred.
- Strong organizational, verbal, written communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
