Responsibilities
- Implement infrastructure abstractions that translate service-team requirements into infrastructure-as-code parameters and production deployments
- Deploy and operate VPCs, compute pools, storage, Kubernetes clusters, and networking using infrastructure-as-code modules
- Own the operation and maintenance of managed publish/subscribe messaging systems such as Kafka
- Use Cloud Operations infrastructure-as-code modules and provide operational feedback and enhancement requests
- Write production-quality Java code for infrastructure abstractions with security and best practices built in
- Contribute to infrastructure standards, code reviews, operational runbooks, and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- 1–2+ years of software development experience with Java or similar languages
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean, testable code and reliable systems design
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience deploying software to and operating in a cloud environment
- Comfort with the Linux command line and solid understanding of networking and cloud computing concepts
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and hands-on experience with Terraform, Argo CD, or equivalent tools
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to collaborate with senior engineers, ask questions, and incorporate feedback
