Responsibilities
- Take customer problems from discovery through production within a small pod, using customer feedback to guide incremental delivery.
- Direct AI agents to draft implementations, tests, and migrations, then review, integrate, and harden the resulting work.
- Design and deliver production systems with strong correctness, performance, resource efficiency, testing, and observability.
- Work across frontend, backend, data, infrastructure, and other parts of the codebase as required by the problem.
- Move between pods, problems, and streams while leaving built systems operating reliably.
- Own outcomes, raise risks early, and make decisions rather than escalating them.
- At higher scope, set technical direction, maintain quality across other engineers’ work, and lead cross-cutting or decoupling initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping production systems end-to-end, including design, rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
- Experience designing testing and observability for complex, debuggable, and safely evolvable systems.
- Strong systems experience in a polyglot environment; Rust, C/C++, or Python experience is valued.
- Ability to work outside a primary technical layer, including frontend, data, or infrastructure work.
- Experience using AI tools as a serious part of software development, with the judgment to review and own their output.
- Product and design judgment, including the ability to shape solutions and make sensible decisions under ambiguity.
- Demonstrated ownership of outcomes beyond immediate tasks.
- For Level 4 scope: experience setting technical direction, improving other engineers’ effectiveness and safety, maintaining quality across others’ work, and leading adopted cross-cutting initiatives.
