Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and modernize scalable Java back-end services and trading systems.
- Develop new functionality and evolve existing components using clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
- Build containerized, cloud-ready services and contribute to migration from legacy environments to AWS.
- Work with AWS Lambda, EKS, RDS, S3, and MSK as part of cloud modernization efforts.
- Improve observability through metrics, tracing, and logging.
- Use AI tooling such as GitHub Copilot, MCP servers, and LLMs to accelerate development, testing, documentation, and operational automation.
- Identify and implement intelligent automation opportunities, including anomaly detection, documentation generation, and automated runbooks.
- Collaborate directly with portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams to translate business workflows into robust technical designs.
- Own work across the full software lifecycle, from design and implementation through production.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of strong experience with Java and back-end development.
- Familiarity with microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Some exposure to AWS or cloud-native engineering concepts, including containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
- Interest or experience using AI tools for code generation, test creation, documentation, or similar productivity improvements.
- Ability to work proactively, learn quickly, and operate in a fast-moving front-office environment.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to partner closely with business users.
