Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain CrowdIn and CrowdIn Enterprise project configurations, branches, file structures, parsers, segmentation rules, QA rules, and integrations.
- Develop automation scripts and middleware using Python, Node.js/JavaScript, Bash, CrowdIn REST APIs, and webhooks.
- Integrate continuous localization workflows with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, and source-control repositories.
- Build pseudo-localization runs and automated QA validation to detect UI clipping, hardcoded strings, malformed variables, RTL issues, and broken syntax.
- Partner with frontend, backend, and mobile engineering teams to establish i18n standards and remediate source-code localization issues.
- Troubleshoot parsing, encoding, build, variable, and integration failures across development and release environments.
- Document technical workflows, API integrations, developer guidelines, and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of dedicated experience in Localization Engineering, software engineering with an i18n focus, or technical globalization.
- Extensive hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and automating CrowdIn or CrowdIn Enterprise, including CrowdIn CLI, APIs, webhooks, and custom file formats.
- Experience building technical localization pipelines in fintech, SaaS, or highly regulated software environments.
- Proficiency in at least two scripting languages, such as Python, Node.js/JavaScript, or Bash.
- Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD tooling including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Deep knowledge of ICU formatting, Unicode, UTF-8, plural rules, RTL layout support, and localized file structures such as JSON, YAML, Android XML, Apple Strings, PO, and XLIFF.
- Exceptional ability to independently debug file parsing, character encoding, and build-pipeline failures.
- Preferred experience with CrowdIn Figma integration, automated design-token localization, Docker, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computational Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
