Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns and developing standard operating procedures.
- Enhance and maintain applications and existing codebases, including peer review of code changes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders to implement technical designs.
- Investigate and adopt relevant new technologies.
- Participate in architecture and code reviews.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead project work, mentor less experienced developers, and drive cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Apply AI-native practices to develop, validate, and continuously improve software delivery and operations.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in Java full-stack development.
- At least 10 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust and highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD and DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Understanding of unit testing, test-driven development, functional testing, and performance testing.
- Experience with React is a plus.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience integrating with event buses such as Pulsar and cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data and machine learning technologies, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to operate across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation levels.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor others, work independently, and balance short- and long-term product goals.
- Results-oriented, customer-focused, self-starting approach with experience delivering outcomes across cross-functional teams.
