Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services and distributed systems.
- Improve system quality through issue identification, standard patterns, standard operating procedures, and code reviews.
- Maintain and enhance existing codebases and participate in architecture and peer reviews.
- Investigate and adopt new technologies where relevant.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead technical direction, mentor less experienced developers, and guide complex engineering projects.
- Drive cloud, DevOps, AI, and modernization initiatives across cross-functional teams.
- Translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of Java full-stack development experience.
- At least 10 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD and DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, or Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices.
- Knowledge of at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
