Base Salary

$191k - $253k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement trusted, safety-critical Vehicle Management Systems for autonomous maritime vehicles.
  • Develop scalable subsystems for sensor processing, state estimation, contingency management, actuation, payload interfaces, and mission systems interfaces.
  • Build reusable software components, real-time embedded software, device drivers, and sensor and actuator interfaces.
  • Create software- and hardware-in-the-loop test and simulation fixtures.
  • Own software components across requirements definition, architecture, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment and travel up to 20% to work with end users or other teams.
  • Mentor software engineers and contribute as a technical lead on a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency writing C and experience with Real Time Operating Systems.
  • Familiarity with communications buses and protocols including CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, Ethernet, ARINC-825, ARINC-429, and MIL-STD-1553.
  • Systems programming skills in algorithms, data structures, concurrency, and optimization.
  • Ability to act as technical owner for a software component and engage stakeholders, define requirements, manage roadmaps, and coordinate delivery.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to team cohesion.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred qualifications include autonomous vehicle software, high-assurance safety-critical applications, sensor and actuator interfaces, remote software troubleshooting, electrical and mechanical systems, DO-178, IEC 61508, navigation and communications systems, manufacturing and deployment lifecycles, and Systems Engineering concepts.
