Base Salary
$145k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and write primarily Java code and unit tests
- Investigate, diagnose, and improve performance bottlenecks and cost inefficiencies
- Implement, test, and deploy architecture and library changes
- Develop cost modeling and reporting and analyze data patterns
- Respond to internally and customer-identified performance and reliability issues
- Collaborate with backend engineers on distributed systems problems
Requirements
- Experience writing Java and familiarity with industry best practices
- Hands-on experience designing and maintaining data-intensive systems
- Experience with a cloud platform, preferably Google Cloud Platform
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred experience with Java Virtual Machine memory optimization and performance tuning
- Preferred experience with streaming and batch workloads
- Preferred experience improving, adapting, and extending a mature codebase
