Responsibilities
- Maintain, test, and support industrial automation system configuration and product-selection tools.
- Design and implement product configurators based on product marketing specifications and business requirements.
- Manage product and configuration data from multiple databases for integration with electronic marketing and sales tools.
- Develop server-based web applications supporting product configuration and selection processes.
- Create, test, validate, and deploy configurator solutions in enterprise configurator environments.
- Perform database programming, data modeling, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Product Managers, engineering teams, partners, and external users to clarify requirements and implement enhancements.
- Ensure configurator accuracy, performance, documentation, and compliance with development standards.
- Provide production support, including on-call support for bugs and issues during sprints.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and industrial automation product knowledge development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience.
- Experience with live software development projects and production support activities.
- Experience with database programming and data management concepts.
- Knowledge of software application development, testing methodologies, and technical documentation.
- Experience working in product configurator development environments.
- Ability to work independently and with globally distributed teams.
- Flexibility to support U.S. time zones during software release and testing activities.
- Preferred experience with industrial automation products, Rockwell Automation products, or equivalent competitor offerings.
- Preferred hands-on experience with declarative product model programming in configurator platforms such as SAP Variant Configuration, Selectica/Oracle CPQ, Configit, or Tacton.
- Preferred knowledge of SQL and Microsoft Excel, including maintaining complex spreadsheets.
- Preferred experience with server-based web application development and maintenance.
- Preferred exposure to product lifecycle management, product data management, and configuration testing processes.
