Responsibilities
- Own ClickHouse schemas, data models, migrations, materialized views, performance, and scale.
- Build and operate reliable data ingestion and lifecycle processes.
- Develop reports, dashboards, analytics, and self-service reporting through Metabase.
- Diagnose and structurally fix performance and memory issues at scale, including OOMs, read amplification, runaway joins, and recursive or graph queries.
- Set technical standards, build automations and Claude configurations, and remain accountable for the data platform area end to end.
- Enable data storytelling and contribute to customer-facing enablement, demos, technical writing, or community advocacy as appropriate.
Requirements
- Require 5+ years of experience in data or analytics engineering, including prior technical-lead experience.
- Require meaningful experience owning an OLAP database in production; ClickHouse is ideal, while Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, or comparable technologies may be acceptable.
- Require deep SQL and analytical fluency and understanding of materialized views, partitioning, and OLAP database design.
- Require demonstrated ability to diagnose and fix performance and memory problems at scale.
- Require strong business intelligence and reporting experience with dashboards and report-facing layers used by real users.
- Prefer experience with Metabase or transferable experience with Looker, Superset, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Golang and Kubernetes experience are strong pluses.
- Prefer customer-facing and enablement experience, data science or statistics experience, and comfort working with AI-first tools such as Claude Code.
