Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the BigQuery marketing data warehouse, dbt transformations, and scalable batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Design, build, and deploy cloud applications, lightweight user interfaces, and AI agents that automate marketing and product workflows.
  • Develop self-service AI-powered tools and apply AI to automate data-engineering work.
  • Maintain professional engineering standards across AI-assisted code through Git-based version control, code review, testing, semantic versioning, and CI/CD.
  • Own data security and governance, including IAM, least-privilege access, secret management, PII handling, row- and column-level security, and AI safeguards against prompt injection and data exfiltration.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Sales, Marketing Operations, analysts, and BI specialists to resolve data and tooling needs and discrepancies.
  • Provide technical leadership, data architecture expertise, architectural direction, risk mitigation, and subject-matter expertise across marketing technology and AI initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of data engineering experience with breadth into software and/or AI application development.
  • Strong software-engineering fundamentals, including Git workflows, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Hands-on experience deploying applications on Google Cloud, including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, or GKE, plus Docker and infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform.
  • Experience building and deploying AI/LLM applications and agents using technologies such as Vertex AI, Agent Builder, LangChain, or LangGraph, along with API design using tools such as FastAPI.
  • Expertise in SQL and Python, ETL/ELT pipeline design, batch and streaming processes, and API integrations.
  • Required experience with BigQuery, dbt, and data-warehouse modeling concepts.
  • Working knowledge of IAM, least-privilege access, secret management, data security, governance, and sensitive or PII data handling.
  • Experience with cloud environments; GCP is preferred, while AWS and Azure are assets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Fivetran, marketing software categories, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
